The Midnight Star-Book Review(Spoiler Free)

Author: Marie Lu

Rating: 4/5 Stars

Summary: “There was once a time when darkness shrouded the world, and the darkness had a queen.

Adelina Amouteru is done suffering. She’s turned her back on those who have betrayed her and achieved the ultimate revenge: victory. Her reign as the White Wolf has been a triumphant one, but with each conquest her cruelty only grows. The darkness within her has begun to spiral out of control, threatening to destroy all she’s gained.

When a new danger appears, Adelina’s forced to revisit old wounds, putting not only herself at risk, but every Elite. In order to preserve her empire, Adelina and her Roses must join the Daggers on a perilous quest—though this uneasy alliance may prove to be the real danger.” -From Goodreads

Review: Let’s start with the negatives because there were only two and yes, they are kind of important. More of the second than the first one. First, this book was too short. This book kind of should have been a bit longer to give more time to explain things and to through with the traveling of the characters, which leads into number two of the negatives. Second, things happened way too fast and there wasn’t anytime to pause and think about what had happened.

Besides though two negatives, I loved this book. I enjoyed it every much.

The characters continued to be enjoyable to read and grew even more in this book. Adelina was a great female character. I really liked the journey she went on and learning more about herself. As well as how wicked she could be.

Things did happen that I never thought would happen. This was why I love Marie Lu and her books, and will continue to feel that way. She will put events in her stories that I never thought would happen. Especially the ending. Her endings always surprise me in a good way.

Marie Lu’s writing is good in this third and final book with the dialogue and descriptions, as well as addicting. It just wasn’t as great as the first two books in my opinion, but was still good.

This third book is definitely worth the read if you have read the first two to find out what happens to the characters and to find out what happens at the end.

Have fun reading!!!!
