Review: Victoria Schwab has done a great job with this book.

She brings us to a city where there is violence with safety and protection being a luxury. Not only that, but when violence happens monsters get made. The whole premise was what made me want to read this book and I was not disappointed. Nothing was lacking in this book.

As soon as you start reading page one, you are instantly hooked by the two main characters, August and Kate. August became my favorite character right away because of how much me and him were alike with what we thought things should be handled. As for Kate, it did take me a bit to trust her because of how she wanted to be like her father, but then she became my favorite character too.

Victoria’s writing in this book was great. Especially the dialogue and interactions between characters.

If you loved any of Victoria Schwab’s books, then you need to read this one.

Have fun reading!!!
