Ice Like Fire rating: 4/5 Stars

Frost Like Night rating: 5/5 Stars

Summary of Snow Like Ashes Book one:

Sixteen years ago the Kingdom of Winter was conquered and its citizens enslaved, leaving them without magic or a monarch. Now, the Winterians’ only hope for freedom is the eight survivors who managed to escape, and who have been waiting for the opportunity to steal back Winter’s magic and rebuild the kingdom ever since.

Orphaned as an infant during Winter’s defeat, Meira has lived her whole life as a refugee, raised by the Winterians’ general, Sir. Training to be a warrior—and desperately in love with her best friend, and future king, Mather — she would do anything to help her kingdom rise to power again.

So when scouts discover the location of the ancient locket that can restore Winter’s magic, Meira decides to go after it herself. Finally, she’s scaling towers, fighting enemy soldiers, just as she’s always dreamed she would. But the mission doesn’t go as planned, and Meira soon finds herself thrust into a world of evil magic and dangerous politics – and ultimately comes to realize that her destiny is not, never has been, her own.”-From Goodreads

I’m going to start off this review by saying I will be doing 6 sentences review about each of  these two books. There will be no spoilers in these reviews and they will be short and to the point.

Ice Like Fire Review:

This book did suffer from the second book syndrome, which is not being as good as the first, as well as being slow compared to the first. I did find it enjoyable at some points but I did find it slow and boring in the beginning of the book. Also, I think the characters weren’t being smart when it came to figure out who was behind it all. The writing was still great and the characters were still amazing, including the new ones. I just still think this book was meant to be kind of filler to cross the bridge to get to the third book. My suggestion to be if you want to read this, try your best to get through the first fifty pages of this book because it does pick up soon enough.

Frost Like Night Review:

With this being the third and final book it was the best book in the series. I couldn’t stop reading after picking it up because of everything that was going on and wanting to know the ending. What any reader, who reads this book, will find out is that there is no slow point. This is so much better than the second book with it not feeling like it’s a suffer to read through. You will not feel like this was a terrible ending, instead you will come out of it feeling like it was a good ending. This book is worth reading if you have read and pulled through the second book.
