Author: Leigh Bardugo

Series: Six of Crows #2

Rating: 5/5 Stars

Summary: “When you can’t beat the odds, change the game.

Double-crossed and badly weakened, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz’s cunning and test the team’s fragile loyalties. A war will be waged on the city’s dark and twisting streets―a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of the Grisha world.” -From Goodreads

Review: Both Leigh and Sarah J. Maas are the two authors that made me cry and made my heart race with their books that came out this year.

I’m going to try to keep this review spoiler free, but it will be hard to so there are slight spoilers.

The story picks up some time after Six of Crows, which will hook you in right away and you won’t be able to stop reading. I would have finished this book sooner if I didn’t have classes to go to.

Leigh knows how to write the perfect last book that makes you want more set in this world she has created. She also knows how to write events that make your heart hurt and just shock you completely. I gasped so many times.

The characters are still perfect and amazing. I was so scared for them because of what might happen because in this book anything can happen, but that death, though, made me cry so much, and I may not get over it.

The ending makes me wonder if we might get another book, but I know that won’t happen. This is the last book will get of Kaz and the gang, which is sad. If you do read this book to the end, you will understand why I want another one.

Overall, very much worth the read. You totally should read it after Six of Crows. This might be my favorite book out of the two.

Have fun reading!!!

Review: I would recommend you read the Girsha Trilogy first before reading this book. I loved Six Of Crows so so much. It was such a great heist book, even though I haven’t read that type of book before.

That ending, though!

The story was written very well. Leigh really knows how to write stories. The only thing bad was that chapter one didn’t hook me in. It was chapter two that did. The story was so good till the last page.

The characters were so diverse, which was refreshing to have in a book. They all felt important to the story and I kept hoping that none of them would die in the end. They were all so unique.

The ending is what killed me and made me so happy that I read it a month before Crooked Kingdom came out, because I would not have been able to wait long for the next book.

Overall, a five star read. If you liked the Girsha Trilogy, then read this one. Try going into this with only knowing the summary.

Have fun reading!!!
